Youth Employment Service (YES)

YES is a free employment service established to serve the youth, residents and businesses of La Cañada Flintridge. Assistance League of Flintridge has sponsored YES since 1969. The administrative costs of this service are funded by proceeds from the Assistance League of Flintridge Bargain Box Thrift Shop.

Do you need a solution for those everyday hassles? YES can help. Previous job listings have included babysitting, tutoring, computer work, office help, sport skill training, lifeguard, swimming lessons, party assistance, pet care, retail sales, general home repair -- almost any job that someone between ages 14 and 22 could do.

Individuals and businesses wishing to list a job opening should call the YES office at 818-952-4217. Call the office manager during office hours or leave a message anytime. Your call will be returned during the next scheduled office hours. The office manager, Samantha Sharman, will ask you for a description of the job and the amount of salary you will pay. She will attempt to match your request to one of the young people who are registered to work for YES. It is helpful to have a minimum of 3 working days to fill your job request. You may also contact the YES office by email. The office manager will call you to review employee performance upon completion of the job. Please note that state law prohibits us from filling jobs that involve students driving other people. This does not prohibit a student from driving himself or herself to the place of employment.

If you are between the ages of 14 and 22 and a resident of La Cañada Flintridge -- come to the YES office at LCHS during staffed office hours to register. The office manager will answer your questions. You may also print a registration form below, have it signed by a parent, and bring it in person to the YES office.
