So you are a good student, participate in co-curricular activities, volunteer in the community - but you aren't sure how to make yourself stand out in the crowd of college applicants next year. Perhaps your personal statement can make the difference, but colleges receive thousands from deserving students. How can you make your personal statement memorable, you wonder?
Actually, you have the answer. Everyone has a story to tell. It just takes some thinking and some good writing to get it told.
Get started this summer by taking the College Application Essay (Personal Statement) Workshop, sponsored by Assistance League of Flintridge. Instructor Sally Spangler, the College Counselor at La Cañada High School, will help you find your story. You will identify the topic, then create and develop the personal statement that only you can write.
TWO CLASSES WILL BE OFFERED:
Thursdays - June 24 and July 8, from 9:15 am. to 11:30 am OR
Saturdays - June 26 and July 10, from 9:15 am. to 11:30 am
Plus, an individual session of thirty minutes will be scheduled by the student and the instructor.
For more information and the registration form, call ALF at (818) 790-1328 or go to the Assistance League of Flintridge website, www.ALFlintridge.org. Click on Philanthropic Programs and then on College Application Essay (CAE).
